Dr. Bishop Stephan Ackermann, the new bishop of Trier, appointed by Pope Benedict XVI in 2009,
named himself Father Volker Teklik, as the new parish priest for Marpingen on December 8, 2011
(Feast of the Immaculate Conception).
August 26, 2012 FatherTeklik celebrated the first Mass authorized by the bishop in the chapel of the source attended a half thousand pilgrims. According to him it was a historic event awaited by all for over 130 years.
Since then a holy mass is celebrated for the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
